HOW TO ENROLL
The Application Packet will need to be fully completed (with ‘Medical History Report’,’ Medical Exam Report’ signed by a doctor, & a copy of your Immunization Record). Please contact us directly with any questions or concerns about completing this documentation. When it is completed please contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org) to coordinate submission. We will also need a head/shoulders photo of your child in a solid dark t-shirt against a white wall for their ID card.
Initial enrollment is $180 per cadet. This covers uniform and administrative fees associated with joining the program. The US Naval Sea Cadet Corps covers them with a liability insurance when they are participating in Sea Cadet activities. Annual re-enrollment dues are $120 which renews their liability insurance and covers other drill expenses.
Below, you will find a Financial Aid Application attachment. If you choose to complete this form, you will be eligible to partake in future grant scholarship benefits that are awarded our unit. In the past this has helped reduce the cost of trainings for our cadets.
Please review the New Recruit Drill Sea Bag List document (found under the Calendar/POM tab above) and have your cadet bring the enclosed items to the first Drill. Once your cadet completes the initial coursework, the Unit will issue a green seabag, laundry bag, and official Navy working uniform (NWU) and dress uniforms. The unit does not issue black dress shoes or military boots but cadets and parents do sometimes donate shoes to the Unit and we make these available as we have them. We have found that Walmart, Amazon or local Army/Navy Surplus stores are a good place to find boots.
Below is a welcome letter from the unit CO that provides additional information on what you can expect.
Under the Calendar/POM tab above, you will find the ‘Plan of the Month’ (POM). This is usually sent out a week in advance and includes the drill agenda and instructions on what uniform cadets are to report in. Drills are at Franklin Christian Academy, 818 Old Charlotte Pike, East Franklin, TN 37065 unless otherwise noted.
The Application Packet will need to be fully completed (the Medical Exam must be signed by a doctor; also include a copy of your Medical Insurance card and Immunization Record; if your cadet takes medication, make sure the Medical Supplemental form is signed by the doctor)
