BASIC CULINARY

Learn the basics of culinary arts and enjoy eating your creations!

ATTENDANCE:

Cadets must be in the rate of Airman/Seaman (E-3) to attend Culinary. Cadets may attend immediately following attendance at Recruit Training.

PURPOSE:

To train cadets sin the culinary arts, focusing on proper food handling, nutrition, beginning knife skills and meal preparation

CURRICULUM:

Culinary will follow an established standardized curriculum which incorporates preparation, seasoning and sauces, flavors and textures, presentation and serving, as well as nutrition, dietary needs, and food safety.

  • Culinary professionalism in the commercial kitchen/military/home

  • Cook/Bake for their own family

  • Knife Safety

  • Cooking Temperatures

  • Food Storage

  • Hand Washing

  • Clean-up/Sanitizing Techniques

  • Personal/Work Area Hygiene

  • Food Handler Certification

  • Cooking/Serving for Training Contingent

STAND-ALONE TRAINING:

Culinary is a stand-alone training. Culinary students may not enroll in Culinary concurrently with another training.
